Back in action

Its been a while since I last blog. I wonder how many weeks break i had from blogging. Oh well, here are some pics i took on the first day of my trip to Cairns with TK, Jean Imm and Mag after our exams. Cairns is at the north eastern corner of Aussie where the Great Barrier Reef is. By flight, it took a lil more than 3 hours from Melb. By car, maybe you'll take 2 years to arrive your destination. =D More pics of Cairns will be posted in the subsequent entries. We took so many pics, it will take decades for me to get them ready and posted. Meanwhile, enjoy the pics of our first day encounters.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing my longest post to date! =D went to Johnson St at Fitzroy (suburb/kampung) to check out the Hispanic Fair. They are mainly Latin Americans with great, happy, cheerful and colourful cultures. There was a parade and lotsa food. It was so hot that day, I was lucky I didn't get sunburnt. OKok! 2 weeks without posts and finally, I'm back and lovin it! Final paper was done on Friday evening and Saturday, I went out with whole bunch of crazy ppl. Yes, literally crazy ppl... haha. It was really a great time for everyone and I bet all of us realised how much we can laugh in a day. Fingers crossed, more of such happy days to come! As usual, cheq da pix! Its a super long entry. WOW! my entry for this week is practically food centred again. haha.. oh well. i know lotsa ppl come onto me blog and would definitely find it boring if i were to put something that's not of their interest. This is especially so when i have to prepare for exams and have no time to go clicking which hence means that there will not be any updates till maybe a week later or when i get bored of my notes. hence, i've resorted to my old school but practical trick. FOOD PICS !!! Well, we went out on a cheapskate outing on Melbourne Cup eve almost a week ago to get good food at cheapskate prices. They sell the best burgers i reckon. Went to Shalot's .. oopps! Charlotte's place last weekend to do some shoots of the beautiful scenes outside her apartment. The view's absolutely stunning, esp if you're living on the 25th floor. You just can't express it enough. Went to her place to take some shots some time ago and the pics sucked! This time, I brought my tripod along. It was an such an orgasmic experience ... haha ... stop thinking dirty! haha... enjoy !!!

Cenebelle the Octoberanian

I first met Wan Teing, better known as Cenebelle Chua early 2000 when we were 16 years old if I am not mistaken. She was this quiet girl who sits in front of me at Mr. Ng's Physics tuition. Yes, you've not read it wrongly, she was once uber quiet. I think for the 2 years she sat in front of me in tuition, I spoke less than 100 words to her, which is damn little for someone like me (eh, don't start sabo-ing me for that). After that, we met in Melbourne again, and then she began to talk more and more and now, she talks so much, you can't stop her d. Haha... practice makes perfect o! =P

We celebrated her 21st "NGAU YAT" last Friday. It was at this ulu place I'd never expect myself to know even if I stayed in Melbourne for 100 years. These people eat at places you'll never expect that there would be a restaurant there. We went to this restaurant called Murasaki. Its damn posh for a Jap restaurant. What an eye opener. Without these people, I wouldn't know how posh a Jap restaurant could be. Keke.. OK OK, I've been rambling more than usual. Lets get the filmstrip rollin !!!!!

... a beautiful layout in front of all diners. I opened the menu and I had no idea what to order, so Cenebelle had to order for all of us. The reason being, I couldn't stop laughin at the first place cos the names of the food sounded super vulgar if you read it in Canto ...

What a good pic to end it all with. Haha... i think this was one of the most memorable and fun birthday parties that happened in October besides the burger sabo on Ah Boy. I still wonder if Cenebelle still has nightmares after all the ballooning tension. All things aside, I'd like to dedicated this BEAUTIFUL post to a WOMAN called CENEBELLE and wish her HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY and may all things be as smooth as tofu in all your endeavours! *kecink*

Jayco Herald Sun Tour 2005

Today was great. Was contemplating do wake up this morning, it was so good to sleep. I didn't know that my alarm woke TK up. Haha... so he came and woke me up. Went down to Lygon St with my new tripod (170cm ++ man) and took some shots on a beautiful sunny day. My tripod proved useless because its hard to capture the riders. To capture good pics i'll prolly need a 2.5-3.0m tripod. So, there're all taken by hand. I took almost 200 pics with 78 mins of battery life. Don't worry dont worry, i didn't post all of them.

The participants (from all around the world) basically have to circle around the 1.9km course for 50 mins. Afterwards, they will go for their final 3 laps. If i'm not mistaken, its called criteria racing or something of that sort. In short, it was just an experience too great to forget. Great day, great people, great photographic practice and great pics. Enjoy.

... heard the doc saying that he might have a middle finger fracture. his team stopped racing immediately. very strong team spirit, very impressive and touching ...

... the champion's an Aussie, a Victorian, the runner up from Canada and the third's an Irish. Apparently its the third time in 20 years that an Aussie won't the foreigner dominated race ...

Its really an interesting day. Had lotsa fun, seen lotsa colours and lotsa love. Missing my family in Ipoh already. Hope the colours enlightened your exam-stressed brains and kill boredom for those who are too darn bored while on holidays. Chao for now!

A milestone

Exactly a year ago, Ethan Lim was born to Mindy (my cousin) and Edmund. Today's little Ethan's birthday. Its his first birthday! Still felt like it was yesterday that I was informed about his birth. Time flies real fast. Haven't seen this little guy yet but I'm really hoping that I'll get to see him soon *fingers crossed*. He's cute isn't he?

There are so many October babies in Melbourne you'll have no idea how broke and over-budget I am. Sunday night, we celebrated Chooi Chee@ Fei Pou's birthday at Hardrock. Was quite a restless night for me as I was supposed to study for me 15% paper for patho the next day. Nevertheless, when your friend of ## years celebrates her 21st, you just can't say that you're too busy. Well of course, the other reason is that we were both born on the 9th day of the different months we were born in, so there's a certain of relationship la. Must give face no matter what. Anyway, Fei Pou, enjoy the pics yeah [i know you're reading]. I totally ignored your warning about the DO-NOT-POST pics.
